As a mover, I’ve clung to improvisation to explore the movement that bubbles inside of my bones. Improvisation has become my portable sanctuary. It remains honest and curious, yet occasionally habitual, like life. I’ve come to understand that how I move through the world and the way I dance are intimately interconnected. I often grapple with feeling inauthentic when playing with different personas and narratives as a performer. I’ve always assumed I had to mimic these roles, but I’m learning that the line between performer and self is increasingly blurred. These ‘parts’ already exist within me, and embracing them remains authentic, as they are an extension of my true self.

As a teacher, I hope to share these insights and encourage others to maintain an open mindset while placing trust in their innate feelings (mentally and physically.) While we gain so much knowledge from external sources, our most profound lessons often stem from introspection and self-discovery.
